1. How’d you get into travel nursing?
I have always loved travel and had been thinking about traveling for a few years. I finally decided to go for it. I wanted to see different places and visit friends in other states. I also wanted to build my skills and experience.
2. What’s the best part about traveling?
Getting to see all sorts of neat destinations. I enjoy exploring new locations and getting to make new friends. I also enjoy the higher income and the ability to take off between contracts because of that higher pay.

3. You meet a first time travel nurse in the Wichita area, which restaurant is a must for them to try?
Wichita has just about everything you could want as far as restaurants. Some of my favorites are Texas Roadhouse, Wichita Brewing Company, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, and Cheddars.

4. What’s the best part about the Wichita area?
I enjoy living in the Midwest because it’s open and has great people. Wichita has a lot of different things to do and has a great old town district. They have some great concerts and different options for entertainment.
5. Any advice for other travelers?
Learn to be adaptable and learn from the staff. Your attitude can make or break your experience. It’s important to have a positive, team focused approach, be willing to jump in and help wherever you are needed.

6. How do you compare Axis to others travel companies?
I’ve only traveled with Axis but it has been a great experience. Axis does an amazing job of quickly answering questions and making things go smoothly. I also like that Sara, my recruiter, recommends what’s best for me, not necessarily the company. Travel nursing can have extra hassle and stress so a good travel company is a must!
