Where are you from?

I am originally from San Diego, California where I was born and raised.

Currently, I am living in Santa Monica. I’ve lived in Riverside County as well where I graduated from the University of Redlands with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management.

Although I have always been a Southern California girl, I love traveling all across the country and live vicariously through my nurses.

How long have you been recruiting?

I’ve been recruiting since 2011. I’ve worked for a few companies and have learned a lot through the years about what some agencies do that works and what doesn’t work. For me, Axis Medical Staffing (hands down) has been my best experience. As a senior recruiter, I take extreme pride in the agency that I represent, so it’s really awesome to know that I am a part of such a great company.

My two-year anniversary is actually coming up next month and reflecting back over the last two years I can honestly say that I love my team, I love recruiting, and love my nurses.

I feel really fortunate to have found a professional that I am truly passionate about which correlates with the same type of travel nurses that I attract the most, nurses who are truly passionate about what they do as a profession.

Most memorable time with one of your travel nurses?

Hands down the most memorable trip was very recently when one of my nurses who I have known since I first began recruiting flew down across the country from Maine.

One night we went to a popular restaurant for dinner and drinks in West Hollywood and got completely starstruck when seen Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd pass by our table. Most of you who are not reality binge watchers, like other people that I know, not me, of course, but other people. They are obsessed with LVP who’s best known from Bravo Tv’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The best part about it was I got everything on video with my travel nurse in the shot! Living in Santa Monica, it was so surreal to see a celebrity that you’ve watched on TV so much that you feel like you already know.

What also made the trip so memorable was it happened right before everything got shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s definitely in the books as my most memorable and fun times face-to-face with one of the travelers.

Ok, dogs or cats?

I love all animals, but I’m extremely partial to dogs. I have a cockapoo. His name is Calvin, he’s five years old. He is the most amazing smartest dog that I am just by him and he’s so lovable. I’ve lived with cats and honestly, I just I think because I’m a little maybe I like to have that neediness back. So I am a dog person.

What do you enjoy most about working for Axis Medical Staffing?

Well, that depends… How much time we got?

All kidding aside, I have so many different things that I truly appreciate and enjoy about working for Axis Medical Staffing.

They truly are all about their brand and cultivate a team-oriented mentality where all employees are embraced and empowered. They are really in tune with changes in the current market and do a great job of making me feel like all of my contributions and hard work make a big impact on the company’s overall success.

At most companies both large and small, you usually feel like just a number because you typically are, but with Axis Medical Staffing, not only do we have fun annual trips to our corporate headquarters in Seattle, WA where we all get together for a week, but it’s just an overall rewarding feeling knowing that all of your hard work and effort is truly appreciate- that’s what it comes down to.
