Nurses Week 2021: Sneak Peek

Are you ready? It’s almost time for National Nurses Week 2021! For those who don’t know, National Nurses Week was established in 1993, when the American Nursing Association designated May 6-12 as the official dates to celebrate. The inspiration for National Nurses Week comes from Florence Nightingale, a pioneer of modern nursing who helped bring attention to the inadequate care and poor sanitary conditions soldiers faced during the Crimean War. She established the first secular nursing school in the world and paved the way for generations of nurses to follow in her footsteps. The end of Nurses Week is also Nightingale’s birthday and International Nurses Day!

We think it’s important to celebrate Nurses Week every year, but this year the holiday is especially meaningful for us. We understand how difficult this past year has been for our travelers, and the strain that the pandemic put on the nursing industry as a whole. Our nurses were on the frontlines during the crisis, continuing to work diligently despite the long hours, overcrowded hospitals, and lack of PPE. These Axis Rock Stars met challenges head-on, overcame adversity and we couldn’t be more proud to be on their team!
