At Axis , our travelers are at the heart of everything we do. Each month, we highlight one of our incredible travelers who is making an impact while taking in the adventure of travel healthcare.
For February 2026, we’re excited to recognize our Traveler of the Month, who shares what inspired her to pursue travel nursing, what she loves about her current assignment in Washington State, and advice for nurses considering a similar path.
Why did you get into travel nursing?
I was drawn to travel nursing because it combines my passion for nursing with my love for new experiences and travel. I’m originally from Canada, and travel nursing in the U.S. gives me the chance to explore new places while continuing to develop as a nurse. Each assignment brings new challenges, perspectives, and opportunities to work with different teams and patient populations.
What do you enjoy most about your current location?
What I enjoy most about Washington State is how easy it is to have access to nature. It has a natural beauty, several outdoor activities, and a variety of landscapes which make it the perfect place to unwind and explore while still staying focused and energized at work. As someone who also never liked the cold winters back home,I must admit that the fact that this is my first snowless winter is great!
What has been a rewarding experience as a traveler?
A rewarding part of travel nursing has been how much I’ve grown clinically and professionally. Each assignment has strengthened my adaptability, confidence, and ability to deliver high-quality care in fast-changing environments.
What do you do in your free time?
Outside of work, I like to relax by watching movies, hanging out with my cat, and exploring the city. I’m always on the lookout for new places to eat and fun spots to check out.
How did you discover Axis?
I came across Axis as I was searching for agencies on the internet that were open to help me start my new adventure as a travel nurse with no hospital experience. My lack of experience in a hospital setting did not bother them as they have job opportunities in many different fields.
Any advice you’d give?
All I have to say to future nurses that are thinking about going into travel nursing is to JUST GO FOR IT! As a French Canadian, I think that my journey to get there is probably a little different from someone who has studied in English and done the NCLEX as their nursing exam. Take the time to sit down, breathe and go at it one step at a time.
Celebrating Our Travelers
We’re proud to support travelers at every stage of their journey and grateful to work with clinicians who bring passion, adaptability, and heart to each assignment. Congratulations to our Traveler of the Month for February 2026, and thank you for being part of the Axis community.
