How’d you get into travel nursing?

I have always enjoyed traveling but have never stayed long enough to get a real good “feel” of the places I have traveled to. After spending the last couple of years in my hometown area, I decided I was ready for something new.  Travel nursing seemed like the best opportunity because of the flexibility and the opportunity to choose where I want to venture off to.

What’s the best part about traveling?

The new experiences, and the ability to not only grow professionally, but to grow personally as well. It’s challenging, exciting, and it forces you out of your comfort zone!

You meet a first time traveler in Denver, which restaurant is a must for them to try?

Denver area has a very unique and diversified food culture. Not necessarily a restaurant, but something new to me coming from Wisconsin was their love for food trucks. I would recommend going to the Civic Center Eats Outdoor Café Tuesday or Thursday evening in the summertime. They offer a variety of different food truck vendors, as well as live music.

What’s the best part about Denver?

For me personally, I love the active and vibrant lifestyle Denver area offers. You don’t have to drive far out of the city to explore the Rockies and all of the majestic sites Colorado provides.

Any advice for other travelers?

Being a first time traveler, don’t be afraid to ask questions! Find the right resources, and the people that you can reach out to if you need help.

How do you compare Axis to others travel companies?

I got recommended Axis from a friend that had worked with the company previously. She had nothing but good things to say about Axis, and she wasn’t wrong. Nicole, my recruiter, is always on top of her game. She shows true passion and enthusiasm for what she does, and she is always prompt with any questions that I may have. Being my first travel assignment, she has made this transition into travel nursing easy!

Congrats Courtney!  We’re lucky to have you as part of the Axis family!  🙂
